NCICU Strengthens its Campuses through CIC’s AI Ready Program

North Carolina Independent Colleges & Universities (NCICU) announces the completion of the first year of its strategic partnership with the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) as members of the AI Ready Program 1 cohort. This 12-month initiative, which kicked off in August 2025, sparked foundational AI literacy and operational capacity across North Carolina’s independent campuses.
As a select state partner in the CIC AI Ready network, NCICU provides its campuses access to a year-long curriculum developed by CIC’s AI Ready team that brings dynamic, national AI expertise directly to our state. The upcoming June sessions promise to energize participants, as they are the last in this academic year’s program.
“Our participation in the CIC AI Ready series has enabled campus representatives to benefit from national experts on AI strategies tailored to campus needs,” said NCICU President Dr. A. Hope Williams. “A ‘Fourth Thursday’ meeting among NCICU campuses provided opportunities for discussion on how individual campuses are using and plan to use AI in assisting students, faculty, and staff.”
Based on the high level of interest and positive feedback from individual campuses, NCICU has agreed to partner with CIC for the 2026-27 AI Ready Series.
